Frequently Asked Questions

Q.1. Do I really need a stabilizer if I already have an inverter?

Yes, and this is one of the most common myth. An inverter protects your home appliances during power cuts, but it does NOT regulate voltage during normal supply. Voltage fluctuations happen even when power is ON, your AC, fridge, and other appliances are still at risk without a stabilizer.

Q.2. Which stabilizer is right for my 1.5 ton AC?

For a 1.5 ton AC (including inverter ACs), you need a 4 KVA stabilizer. Amekra's 4 KVA models work for 0.8T, 1T, and 1.5T ACs. If your area has very low voltage (below 160V), choose our 150V–280V model. For standard areas, 170V–280V model is ideal.

Q.3. What is the difference between 150V and 170V stabilizers?

The input voltage range tells you how low your voltage can drop before the stabilizer stops protecting your appliance.

Choose 150V if:
You live in UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, or any rural area where voltage often drops very low, especially in summers.

Choose 170V if:
You live in a city like Delhi, Mumbai, or Bangalore where power is relatively stable.

Not sure which one your area needs? Check our free VoltMap, just select your state and it tells you instantly.

Q.4. Is a stabilizer required for inverter ACs?

Yes, even if you have an inverter AC.

In most Indian homes, voltage swings badly especially in summer. That slowly damages your AC's compressor, even if everything looks fine on the outside.

Here's the thing most people don't know - brands like Daikin, Voltas, and LG themselves recommend using a stabilizer with their inverter ACs. If you skip it and something goes wrong, your warranty claim could get rejected too.

So a stabilizer isn't just extra protection, it's peace of mind.

Q.5. What does KVA mean and how do I choose the right one?

Its like a bigger pipe carries more water. same as a higher KVA stabilizer handles more electrical load.

Simple rule for most homes:

  • 1 ton or 1.5 ton AC → 4 KVA is enough
  • 2 ton AC → go with 5 KVA
  • Whole home protection → depends on how many appliances you have

Not sure about your home? Just use our free LoadLogic calculator — enter your appliances and it tells you the exact KVA you need in seconds.

Q.6. What is the warranty on Amekra stabilizers?

All Amekra stabilizers come with a 5-year warranty, one of the best in the industry. Most competitors offer only 2–3 years. If you face any issue within the warranty period, our support team will assist you with a free repair or replacement.

Q.7. Do you deliver across India? How long does it take?

Yes, Amekra delivers pan India for free. Standard delivery takes 4–7 business days depending on your location. Metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore typically receive orders within 3–4 days.

Q.8. Can one stabilizer protect multiple appliances at once?

Yes, that's exactly what a Mainline Stabilizer does.

Instead of buying a separate stabilizer for each appliance, one Mainline Stabilizer connects at your home's main switch board and protects everything at once — your AC, fridge, TV, washing machine, all of it.

If you only want to protect a single appliance like your AC or fridge, we have dedicated stabilizers for those too — smaller, cheaper, and plug-and-use.

Q.9. What happens if voltage is too high or too low, will the stabilizer cut off?

Yes. Amekra stabilizers have an automatic cut-off feature. If voltage goes beyond the safe operating range (too high or too low), the stabilizer disconnects your appliance to prevent damage. Once voltage returns to a safe level, it automatically reconnects after a safe time delay — so your compressor is never harmed.

Q.9. Is it easy to install? Do I need an electrician?

yes, it is easy to install no electrician needed

Just plug the stabilizer into your wall socket, then connect your AC or fridge to it. That's it.

Only our Mainline Stabilizer (the whole-home one) needs a local electrician for a one-time setup.
